Donnie Hoover started in pro wrestling in 1997 under the name of Shank Dorsey. With many years of in-ring action under his belt, he stepped away from professional wrestling due to mounting injuries and to start a family.
In 2015, he and his wife Terrie, started New Ohio Wrestling (NOW). NOW is a family-friendly professional wrestling company based out of Columbus, OH.
NOW has worked with the Arnold Sports Festival, The Ohio State Fair, The Obetz Zucchinifest, Groveport Madison and Whitehall schools, and many other great organizations.
In 2021, after COVID shut the world down, Donnie and Terrie went looking for a place to get their ring out the their garage and back in a gym where it belongs.
They found such a place and as things progressed, the idea of a fitness program that included a pro wrestling ring entered Donnie's mind to get himself back into shape and combat his obesity and Type-2 Diabetes.
Donnie took this idea to Shawn Jones and the WrestleFit concept was born.
This chain of events is what started the creation of the WrestleFit Training & Lifestyle Center.
